Sounds of the Engine House are a Manchester-based ensemble, dedicated to programming the works of living composers.
Co-directed by composers Eve Harrison and Ben Gaunt, Sounds of the Engine House are a flexible group of musicians, comfortable performing in concert halls, basements, pubs, churches, art galleries, and even engine houses. They regular collaborate with artists of other disciplines (poets, sonic artists, video artists, and dancers).
Formed in 2011, Sounds of the Engine House have gone on to play at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, toured the north of England (funded by Sound and Music), and performed at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 2014, alongside Lore Lixenberg and Ian Watson.
